EXTRAORDINARY ADVERTISING: How we brought to life the dreams of the UK’s leading skincare brand

On the 13th February 2024, months of hard work came to fruition. Much like Cupid himself, we made dreams come true for The Ordinary – just in time for Valentine’s Day. We created an enormous bottle of their hero Hyaluronic Acid and floated it down the River Thames, to make sure everyone knows about their wave-making formula that delivers a stunning complexion to all. 

The bottle has been built by One Agency as an exact replica of The Ordinary’s hero product, with one BIG difference – it’s 12 metres tall! The client originally came to us looking for something ‘show-stopping’ and ‘unique’. They wanted to float their product down the Thames but weren’t sure whether this was possible. 

Relishing this huge challenge, we decided to make the bottle so large that it commanded a Tower Bridge lift, acting as the focal point of the activation and a real “wow” moment. It also passed some truly iconic London landmarks such as Canary Wharf, the 02, and the Shard.

Almost all of One Agency’s departments have been involved. Our sister company One Events built the imposing structure, whilst our creative studio formulated an international CGI campaign to take the activation worldwide. Alongside this, the media and digital teams supported with crucial, actionable research. We’re so excited to share the fruits of our labour in one of our most exciting projects to date.
