The Ordinary – Milky Toner
Brief
Renowned skincare brand The Ordinary came to us in search of a creative angle for launching their latest innovative product – the Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner. The idea put forward by our Events team was The Ordinary Milk Float, which was to embark on a tour across the UK. This experience required standout creative to do the concept justice and really bring the campaign to life.
Process
The creative team saw the opportunity afforded by the product name ‘milky toner’, and ran with the idea of a milk float, free iced lattes and, of course, crates full of the product itself for people to sample. We incorporated a strikingly minimalistic design to match The Ordinary’s overall branding as well as the concept of a milk float, adding all-important stylistic flourishes to make it stand out from the crowd.
Handing out iced coffees also allowed us to share the fascinating story of fermentation and provide an interactive educational experience for the public, driving engagement even further. Our branded iced latte cups included QR codes, directing people to The Ordinary’s online store to purchase Milky Toner or any of their other products.
As part of this push we also incorporated a CGI element. This included using real footage of The Ordinary’s stores in Toronto being flooded with the Milky Toner product, showcasing what’s on offer in truly unforgettable fashion. Crafted by our incredible CGI designers, this is yet another example of how we’re using innovative techniques to create the marketing of tomorrow.
Results
The creatively designed milk float and latte cups led to a successful activation, resulting in over four-thousand products being sampled, and over fifteen-thousand branded iced lattes given out. The tireless work of our creative team produced yet another high-performing launch for an industry-leading brand.
