Housed within the grade II listed Edwardian Pear Mill, The Vintage Emporium offers a treasure trove of all things antique and coveted. With an eclectic collection of furniture, lighting, home ware, collectibles and fashion, there are over 50 independent traders to discover. There’s even a vintage sewing seamstress available for all your tailoring needs.
This week’s One Hour Challenge sees our designers give the Pear Mill brand a whole new refresh.
“The Pear of the building is a large, pear-shaped concrete cupola, on top of the water tower. This is housed on the South-East corner of the building, and forms the basis of my design.”
Each week, our designers are challenged to transform a brand, giving it a whole new look and tone of voice – in under 60 minutes. From finding a brand, completing research and delivering the final artwork, the One Hour Challenge is a test of originality and skill.
“My approach this week was to strike a balance between ‘vintage’ and ‘modern’. I started by creating a pear which has 2 halves to it, symbolising the iconic building and the Pear Mill Vintage Emporium. Using a small colour palette set of Royal Blue, White and Gold, I created a luxurious look with an antique flair. I maintained the theme of 2 halves through the type.”
The #OneHourChallenge is an internal One Agency project where we take a popular brand and refresh it in an hour- it’s just for fun and purely because we love designing.
