I love Eureka Street, by Robert McLiam Wilson. It provides a voice from both sides of a conflicted area in Belfast, an place which has always been close to my heart.

The Road by Cormac McCarthy
This is a great book because it’s haunting, honest and uniquely written. I love post-apocalyptic stories, and this one tells the tale of a father and his young son while they learn to cope in a bleak landscape which has wiped out most signs of life on Earth.

The Old Man and The Sea, by Ernest Hemingway, SEO Manager
My most recent reads include ‘The Snail and The Whale’ and ‘The Stick Man’, but if I had to choose my favourite book ever, I’d go for ‘The Old Man and The Sea’. A timeless fable, Hemingway takes the theme of courage in the face of defeat and tells the story of triumph after great losses.

A Million Little Pieces, James Frey
I read this one years ago, and the narrative still haunts me to this day. Touching and harrowing, this misery lit follows the story of a drug addict through his agonising rehabilitation process. Written like a stream of consciousness and with little punctuation, I have never felt closer to a protagonist.

I love books that transport you into worlds of escapism. The Little Paris Book Shop is all about new beginnings and making peace with your past. While the beautifully written narrative takes you on an adventure through France, the heart-warming cornerstone of the novel reminds us of what’s important in life.
