Are you a talented web developer looking for your next challenge? This role is vital in delivering progressive cutting-edge web solutions to both our clients and internal assets, whilst working closely with our existing development team to shape our processes and capabilities.

One of the largest integrated agencies outside London, we cover several major marketing channels, including out of home, digital, outdoor vehicle media and event management, and the development of first-rate digital assets will be a major focus of the role.

Your skills and experience

  • 3+ years of web development at a mid-weight level
  • Technically adept in both front and backend development, HTML, CSS, ideally PHP and any PHP Frameworks (i.e. Laravel) plus CMS-based PHP (WordPress) experience would be desirable
  • Frontend JS experience with jQuery/React/Node/Angular/Vue
  • Experience in front-end build tools such as Grunt or Gulp, CSS pre-processors such as SCSS/LESS and code versioning tools such as Git
  • Good familiarity with database technologies such as MySQL
  • Ecommerce platforms such as WooCommerce, Magento, Shopify also desirable.
  • Demonstrable expertise and strong eye for UX development on both mobile and desktop devices, including UX elements and site speed performance
  • Ability to work with and direct a team of designers to ensure the optimal outcome is achieved for the client or asset in creation
  • An impeccable eye for quality control, pre-empting issues and challenges to be overcome, identifying site errors with the ability to provide ‘out of the box’ ways of thinking
  • Understanding and implementation of web security and data protection
  • Work in both waterfall and agile methods with all relevant colleagues across the business, both digital and out of home advertising
  • Be visual in proposing new working methods and tools to enhance productivity and new-age thinking
  • Extremely strong time and priority management techniques, working in collaboration with the digital project management team
  • Attention to detail is critical and a desire to take pride in your output
  • An understanding of best practices when building websites that consider SEO (technical on-page), PPC landing pages & ecommerce platforms
  • Ideally you will either have agency experience or have had exposure to in-house roles delivering across various campaigns for multiple stakeholders

 

Your responsibilities

  • Design overall frontend and backend architecture of the web projects and applications
  • Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of web projects and applications
  • Collaborate with the design and development team to design and launch new features
  • Maintain code integrity and organisation
  • Work with graphic designers and convert designs into functional output
  • Implement security and data protection on all sites where required
  • Management of code versioning tools {such as Git, Mercurial or SVN}
  • Ensuring quality control of all web solutions we create
  • Undertaking frequent personal development research and advancement techniques to further your own and the company’s expertise and commercial offerings.
